Looking Glass device is a touchpoint within Cartier boutiques that allows for virtual try-ons of rare Cartier pieces. I collaborated on the tangible design of this device, which aims to enhance the confidence of both sales associates requesting product transfers and clients looking to make purchases without seeing the items in person.

Using advanced machine learning, it generates real-time, lifelike visualizations of jewelry that are virtually indistinguishable from the actual items. The device is intended to replace traditional boutique desk lamps, serving that function when not in use.

INSIGHT:

Looking at one's own hand through a screen can be unnerving. Users who first tested the technology were self-conscious of how their hands appeared. It seemed like a “microscope”. I worked on the lighting design to create a flattering image of the hand.
